Three defensive backs in a row. Guess Pete Carroll is also serious about special teams. Wonder what this means for Walter Thurmond, Kam Chancellor, and Brandon Browner.
I'd say that this is simply taking care of business in advance. Jennings is no longer under contract and Trufant is declining and due a base salary of $7.2M in 2012. He will not be retained after this season.
My hunch is it means we will have too many dbs, lots of competition and some wasted late rounders. We were fine at CB depth, we needed a CB-1 or -2, and picked 3 dime backs to make up for it. Murphy's Law on full display in our front office.
I don't think it means anything for Thurmond or Chancellor. I'd be more worried for Browner, Cox, etc.
