I think Hawthorne is actually an ideal ILB in a 3-4 scheme, sure tackling is his forte.
Lofa was reportedly less than happy about the Bandit D that took him off the field, as well as the 2 gap principles on the line in front of him that left a guard free to attack his position. Bigger would seem to be better in seeking his replacement, though that hardly seems ideal for a zone coverage 4-3 middle backer. A real conundrum.Scotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03606055041796769662noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3012469417215497172.post-13067792614475706382011-01-29T10:50:52.525-08:002011-01-29T10:50:52.525-08:00Concur. It would be fair to give Lofa one more year to get healthy and return to form, but given Carroll's proactive ways and lack of favoritism, who knows?Brandon Adamshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03533683928083230398noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3012469417215497172.post-13923196014320181582011-01-29T01:03:46.286-08:002011-01-29T01:03:46.286-08:00This is probably why we've already heard name ...This is probably why we've already heard name dropping online about UW's Mason Foster. Even showing interest in him suggests that Seattle is looking to upgrade the MLB spot.

Nothing against Lofa, but I was really hoping his participation in Pete Carroll's offseason workout program, and therefore playing at a lower weight, but bring back that same Lofa from 2005-2007, who was intimidating against the run and great against the pass. I guess you could say Lofa was better this year, but not by much. Considering the injuries and decline in play, its kind of hard to believe he's only 28 years old.Kipnoreply@blogger.com
