That would mean that we wouldn't have to panic and possibly trade up for a qb, we would have the time to draft a later pick and let him sit for a while developing under a vet. Who knows though for sure what all is going on behind the scenes though?bxrmannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3012469417215497172.post-15542471897352737502011-04-27T06:32:27.309-07:002011-04-27T06:32:27.309-07:00Rumors are not the same as facts. No one outside the Seattle organization knows which.

The rumor also indicated that Kapernick (sp) was the #2 QB on their board. The number 1 is a big secret. Many people assume it's Locker. Maybe it is, maybe not.

Rumors and statements by teams before the draft all have to be taken within the context of the situation. Maybe Mallett is no longer under consideration by the Seahawks. Maybe is their #1 QB in the draft. I challenge anyone to definitively declare which it is, with any degree of certainty.Hawksince77http://www.theinnonthelibrarylawn.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3012469417215497172.post-39455306713580114832011-04-27T06:23:14.434-07:002011-04-27T06:23:14.434-07:00Brandon, if you are concerned about matt's arm...Brandon, if you are concerned about matt's arm strength, you have no choice but to be concerned about Palmer. They are about the same. Palmer's out patterns hang in the air like a Barney balloon at a 6 year old's birthday party. The 6! pick sixes he threw last year were not a statistical outlier, not an anomaly. He is as much of a captain rainbow at Matt.

Any decision to have him on the team needs to come with mandatory elbow surgery. His refusal to explore that option 3 years ago is the primary reason he is still tossing rainbows.Scotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03606055041796769662noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3012469417215497172.post-45673211237294958752011-04-26T22:56:14.947-07:002011-04-26T22:56:14.947-07:00As a note, if you followed Staton's site, you ...As a note, if you followed Staton's site, you would also know that one of his sources say Mallet is off the board for mobility reasons (not character).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3012469417215497172.post-17912013798980565712011-04-26T21:52:28.725-07:002011-04-26T21:52:28.725-07:00I like the move. He may have really liked playing for Carroll, and the thought of finishing his career with him might be a huge motivating factor.

In three season, Palmer will be the same age that Hassellbeck is now. I'd bet he has three seasons left.LouieLouienoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3012469417215497172.post-59600076171734195492011-04-26T18:11:54.103-07:002011-04-26T18:11:54.103-07:00From what I understand, Palmer was the best QB to ...From what I understand, Palmer was the best QB to come out of USC in a long time. The Bootys, Leinerts, Cassels, etc haven't made quite the same impact.

Last year Palmer played frustrated - at least that was my impression. Also, I read somewhere that Seattle was the only team he would consider being traded to. And to your point, as far as the Bengals are concerned, better something then nothing.

I too prefer drafting Mallett. If he is there at 25, maybe they do. Having Palmer, Mallett and CW is almost too good to be true, but that's how it might happen. If so, we'd have the position covered, sure.Hawksince77http://www.theinnonthelibrarylawn.comnoreply@blogger.com
